Outputs and Results

BuSK focuses on the reconciliation of various and often conflictual rural land and natural resource use modes such as forestry, reindeer herding, agriculture, mining, tourism and recreation – depending on the needs of the case in question

The results will increase the capacity of remote and sparsely populated communities for sustainable environmental management by involving all stakeholders to land use planning and natural resource use decisions

Contribution to the changes sought by NPA 2014-2020:

  • Increased capacity of remote and sparsely populated communities for sustainable environmental management
  • Involvement of end users. End users will be involved in all stages of participatory GIS mapping from planning of questionnaires to applying the results to local land use planning and natural resource management

Outputs produced in different work packages of the BuSK project can be found from here: https://www.luke.fi/busk/work-packages/
